About us

We are neighbors, not lobbyists.

Save East Po is an independent, grassroots coalition of DC neighbors — runners, golfers, fishers, picnickers, and park-lovers — who care about keeping East Potomac Park open and accessible to everyone.

A new federal redevelopment proposal would significantly reshape the peninsula, raising real questions about the future of the affordable mini-golf, picnic groves, and open shorelines that DC residents have used for over a century.

This is happening at the federal level — and the only thing that breaks through is grassroots support showing how much East Po means to DC residents.

One of DC's best outdoor spaces

From the cherry blossoms to the Hains Point loop, East Potomac Park is one of the best outdoor spaces in all of DC — a place where every kind of Washingtonian shows up to run, picnic, fish, golf, and gather.

A big proposed change

The new federal proposal would reshape much of the peninsula and could remove affordable amenities and limit shoreline access that residents have enjoyed for generations.

Neighbors getting involved

Public spaces stay public when the people who love them speak up. Every signup, every comment, and every shared story helps make sure the community has a seat at the table.
